Thank you for one year of autism awareness and acceptance!
Tomorrow, today as this comes out, is my one year for the autism blog and Instagram!
Over this past year, I've grown so much.
Alot of that growth is thanks to my family and friends, but also this page.
Being able to express myself through this blog and seeing so many people understand different aspects of my life on Instagram has been amazing!
Almost like it was yesterday, I remember sitting in the car with my dad and sister, looking at the followers.
It had been one week, and we'd already hit 100 followers, it blew my mind.
The next week we hit 200 followers, then like expected it slowed down, but I am eternally grateful.
That growth in followers inspired me to continue posting and creating.
At times I've found it all too stressful or too much, but my family has always been there to stop me from giving up.
I love having a blog, and I love knowing there is a community of people just like me.
I'm eternally grateful for one year ago when I sat on my parents bed, lap filled with chocolate Easter eggs and said that I wished I could start a blog.
And so, we sat and researched websites and different ways to create a blog when we found the perfect website, and here we are now.
Thank you to my sister for helping me come up with Instagram captions when my mind failed to put something into a coherent sentence.
I'd also like to say thank you to everyone reading this.
Without all of you, this blog would cease to exist.
I would've given up and never have realised my passion is creating and helping people who are like me, and need someone who has been through it and is willing to put it all online so they don't feel so alone.
That is one of the many joys of this past year.
I feel like not only has this blog helped me, but maybe it's helped even just one person.
I am eternally grateful that there is a community like me, a little corner of the internet where I and many others can express who we are.
Thank you for one of the best years of my life.
