Last night I tried something new.
Let me rewind a back a bit and catch you up.
On a Friday night, me and my mum were scrolling through the internet looking at sensory objects.
We started seeing some I liked, and that’s when it hit us - when I say us I mean my mum - the idea of sensory time.
Incase you’re unsure and the name doesn’t give it away - sensory time is a time, 30 minutes to an hour, before I go to bed where I sit in my room and interact with all my sensory objects.
And back to almost present, last night was the first on many sensory times.
All that we had received yet was two objects.
However, it still forfilled its purpose - of which being calming me before I go to be in which gives me a better nights sleep.
We’re continuing sensory time of course and planning on eventually expanding the items.
Also, I’m just going to add this on the end here but a friend of my mums asked me a few days ago, when I showed her my instagram (@autism.and.i) if it helped me to write these things down. And the answer to that, is yes. It helps my thought process understand how I am feeling and also understand my anxiety and autism itself.
