This is for anyone who has autism, knows someone with autism or is generally interested in the autism life.

1) Autism now affects every 1 in 59 children. Over half are classified as having an intellectual disability or borderline intellectual disability.

2) Boys are four times more likely to have autism than girls!

3) Around 40% of children with autism do not speak.

4) Autism is a developmental disability that usually appears before the age of 3.

5) Individuals with autism often suffer from numerous other medical conditions including; allergies, asthma, epilepsy, digestive disorders, feeding disorders, sensory processing disorders, sleeping disorders and more.

6) Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorders yet most underfunded.

7) At least one in three autistic adults are experiencing severe mental health difficulties due to a lack of support.

8) There is currently no cure for autism. Which is a good thing because we are all perfect as we are.

9) Hyperlexia, the ability to read about your age or grade/year level in school commonly accompanies autism spectrum disorder.

10) Individuals with autism may be very creative and find a passion and talent for music, theatre, art, dance and singing quite easily.

11) Females with autism remain an understudied group in research.

12) People with autism may dislike displays of affection and prefer to play on their own.

13) Having autism may lead to limited eye contact or limited gestures the inability to describe something.

14) Individuals with autism may struggle with changes in daily routine.

15) Some children with autis may put their toys in order rather than playing with them.
